Surah At-Tin (Arabic: سورة At-Tin, "The Fig") is the 95 chapter (surah) of the Qur'an, containing 8 verses (ayahs). It is classified as a Meccan Surah, meaning it is historically understood to have been revealed during the Meccan Period (610–622 CE) of the prophecy.

Introduction

Surah At-Tin ("The Fig") is chapter 95 of 114 in the Qur'an. The full Arabic text, English translation and transliteration of all 8 verses are given below, with verse-by-verse Tafsir available on each ayah.

Text and Translation

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Bismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīm
Verse 95:1
وَالتِّيۡنِ وَالزَّيۡتُوۡنِۙ‏
wal-tīni wal-zaytūni
By the fig and the olive
Verse 95:2
وَطُوۡرِ سِيۡنِيۡنَۙ‏
waṭūri sīnīna
And [by] Mount Sinai
Verse 95:3
وَهٰذَا الۡبَلَدِ الۡاَمِيۡنِۙ‏
wahādhā l-baladi l-amīni
And [by] this secure city [Makkah]
Verse 95:4
لَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا الۡاِنۡسَانَ فِيۡ٘ اَحۡسَنِ تَقۡوِيۡمٍؗ‏
laqad khalaqnā l-insāna fī aḥsani taqwīmin
We have certainly created man in the best of stature
Verse 95:5
ثُمَّ رَدَدۡنٰهُ اَسۡفَلَ سٰفِلِيۡنَۙ‏
thumma radadnāhu asfala sāfilīna
Then We return him to the lowest of the low
Verse 95:6
اِلَّا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ فَلَهُمۡ اَجۡرٌ غَيۡرُ مَمۡنُوۡنٍؕ‏
illā alladhīna āmanū waʿamilū l-ṣāliḥāti falahum ajrun ghayru mamnūnin
Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds, for they will have a reward uninterrupted
Verse 95:7
فَمَا يُكَذِّبُكَ بَعۡدُ بِالدِّيۡنِؕ‏
famā yukadhibuka baʿdu bil-dīni
So what yet causes you to deny the Recompense
Verse 95:8
اَلَيۡسَ اللّٰهُ بِاَحۡكَمِ الۡحٰكِمِيۡنَࣖ‏
alaysa l-lahu bi-aḥkami l-ḥākimīna
Is not Allah the most just of judges
