Surah Al-Layl (Arabic: سورة Al-Layl, "The Night") is the 92 chapter (surah) of the Qur'an, containing 21 verses (ayahs). It is classified as a Meccan Surah, meaning it is historically understood to have been revealed during the Meccan Period (610–622 CE) of the prophecy.
Introduction

Text and Translation
Verse 92:1
وَالَّيۡلِ اِذَا يَغۡشٰيۙ
wa-al-layli idhā yaghshā
By the night when it covers
Verse 92:2
وَالنَّهَارِ اِذَا تَجَلّٰيۙ
wal-nahāri idhā tajallā
And [by] the day when it appears
Verse 92:3
وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالۡاُنۡثٰ٘يۙ
wamā khalaqa l-dhakara wal-unthā
And [by] He who created the male and female
Verse 92:4
اِنَّ سَعۡيَكُمۡ لَشَتّٰيؕ
inna saʿyakum lashattā
Indeed, your efforts are diverse
Verse 92:5
فَاَمَّا مَنۡ اَعۡطٰي وَاتَّقٰيۙ
fa-ammā man aʿṭā wa-ittaqā
As for he who gives and fears Allah
Verse 92:6
وَصَدَّقَ بِالۡحُسۡنٰيۙ
waṣaddaqa bil-ḥus'nā
And believes in the best [reward]
Verse 92:7
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهٗ لِلۡيُسۡرٰيؕ
fasanuyassiruhu lil'yus'rā
We will ease him toward ease
Verse 92:8
وَاَمَّا مَنۭۡ بَخِلَ وَاسۡتَغۡنٰيۙ
wa-ammā man bakhila wa-is'taghnā
But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need
Verse 92:9
وَكَذَّبَ بِالۡحُسۡنٰيۙ
wakadhaba bil-ḥus'nā
And denies the best [reward]
Verse 92:10
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهٗ لِلۡعُسۡرٰيؕ
fasanuyassiruhu lil'ʿus'rā
We will ease him toward difficulty
Verse 92:11
وَمَا يُغۡنِيۡ عَنۡهُ مَالُهٗ٘ اِذَا تَرَدّٰيؕ
And what will his wealth avail him when he falls
Verse 92:12
اِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا لَلۡهُدٰيؗۖ
Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance
Verse 92:13
وَاِنَّ لَنَا لَلۡاٰخِرَةَ وَالۡاُوۡلٰي
And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]
Verse 92:14
فَاَنۡذَرۡتُكُمۡ نَارًا تَلَظّٰيۚ
So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing
Verse 92:15
لَا يَصۡلٰىهَا٘ اِلَّا الۡاَشۡقَيۙ
None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one
Verse 92:16
الَّذِيۡ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلّٰيؕ
Who had denied and turned away
Verse 92:17
وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الۡاَتۡقَيۙ
But the righteous one will avoid it
Verse 92:18
الَّذِيۡ يُؤۡتِيۡ مَالَهٗ يَتَزَكّٰيۚ
[He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself
Verse 92:19
وَمَا لِاَحَدٍ عِنۡدَهٗ مِنۡ نِّعۡمَةٍ تُجۡزٰ٘يۙ
And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded
Verse 92:20
اِلَّا ابۡتِغَآءَ وَجۡهِ رَبِّهِ الۡاَعۡلٰيۚ
But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High
Verse 92:21
وَلَسَوۡفَ يَرۡضٰيࣖ
And he is going to be satisfied
