Surah Al-Qari'ah (Arabic: سورة Al-Qari'ah, "The Calamity") is the 101 chapter (surah) of the Qur'an, containing 11 verses (ayahs). It is classified as a Meccan Surah, meaning it is historically understood to have been revealed during the Meccan Period (610–622 CE) of the prophecy.

Verse 101:1
اَلۡقَارِعَةُۙ
al-qāriʿatu
The Striking Calamity
Verse 101:2
مَا الۡقَارِعَةُۚ
mā l-qāriʿatu
What is the Striking Calamity
Verse 101:3
وَمَا٘ اَدۡرٰىكَ مَا الۡقَارِعَةُؕ
wamā adrāka mā l-qāriʿatu
And what can make you know what is the Striking Calamity
Verse 101:4
يَوۡمَ يَكُوۡنُ النَّاسُ كَالۡفَرَاشِ الۡمَبۡثُوۡثِۙ
yawma yakūnu l-nāsu kal-farāshi l-mabthūthi
It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed
Verse 101:5
وَتَكُوۡنُ الۡجِبَالُ كَالۡعِهۡنِ الۡمَنۡفُوۡشِؕ
watakūnu l-jibālu kal-ʿih'ni l-manfūshi
And the mountains will be like wool, fluffed up
Verse 101:6
فَاَمَّا مَنۡ ثَقُلَتۡ مَوَازِيۡنُهٗۙ
fa-ammā man thaqulat mawāzīnuhu
Then as for one whose scales are heavy [with good deeds]
Verse 101:7
فَهُوَ فِيۡ عِيۡشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍؕ
fahuwa fī ʿīshatin rāḍiyatin
He will be in a pleasant life
Verse 101:8
وَاَمَّا مَنۡ خَفَّتۡ مَوَازِيۡنُهٗۙ
wa-ammā man khaffat mawāzīnuhu
But as for one whose scales are light
Verse 101:9
فَاُمُّهٗ هَاوِيَةٌؕ
fa-ummuhu hāwiyatun
His refuge will be an abyss
Verse 101:10
وَمَا٘ اَدۡرٰىكَ مَا هِيَهۡؕ
wamā adrāka mā hiyah
And what can make you know what that is
Verse 101:11
نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌࣖ
It is a Fire, intensely hot
